These recent LA heat waves are leaving me with a craving for an ice cold smoothie bowl by the pool! Tell me that doesn’t sound perfect on these sweltering summer days. I’m really loving the bright color of dragon fruit also known as pitaya, so I blended up a delicious summer smoothie bowl using a Pitaya Plus frozen packet. Yum!
In addition to their pretty pink color, dragon fruit are rich in vitamin c, vitamin B 12 and antioxidants, giving you a great reason to add pitaya to your diet! I specifically seek organic products so I was super stoked to find Pitaya Plus at Whole Foods in the frozen fruit section. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve opened that same freezer door and never noticed these delicious frozen dragon fruit packs! I am happy that I finally stumbled upon them.
My Summer Pitaya Bowl recipe is quick and easy to make, leaving you spending less time prepping and more time enjoying these beautiful summer days as you should!
Just put a packet of organic Pitaya Plus along with frozen strawberries and mango chucks in the blender. Be sure to use organic fruit in your smoothie bowl. Fruit is healthy but not when it’s sprayed with harmful pesticides! Keep it pure so that you are filling your body up with nutrients and none of that toxic stuff. Add your milk of choice; I love using homemade organic almond milk. Next add two scoops of organic almond butter and blend away! You can use whatever toppings you like. I found cacao nibs, coconut flakes and Kind Raspberry Clusters with Chia Seeds pair quite nicely with this smoothie bowl.
I hope you enjoy your tasty Summer Pitaya Bowl by the pool and keep cool this summer!
