Elevate Your Take-Out Experience During Quarantine
We are still limited in Los Angeles to ordering food to-go instead of dining in however, that doesn’t mean you can’t make take-out more enjoyable during quarantine. This past weekend my husband and I took a drive north and ordered lunch from one of our favorite restaurants called Stonehaus in Westlake Village. Typically, we love dining at Stonehaus because of the atmosphere and ambiance. The Tuscan style restaurant and wine bar boasts lush grounds, a mini winery and live music. Although we currently can’t dine in, we did take a little stroll through the garden after we placed our food order to-go and waited for it to be prepared.
I ordered the Garden Vegetable Panini on gluten free bread and a Caesar Salad while my husband ordered his all time favorite the pepperoni pizza! We both grabbed some ice coffees to keep cool with these hot spring temps and took our packed lunch to-go.
A quick 15 minute drive down Kanan Dume Road on the way to Malibu is one of our favorite look out points. I figured since we can’t enjoy the ambiance at Stonehaus we might as well find the next best thing, which for me just happens to be stunning views of the Santa Monica Mountains.
We drove my Discovery Sport on this luncheon date because it is perfect for adventure! My hubby backed into a parking spot on the small gravel pull off. I popped the trunk, laid out a blanket, unpacked our lunch and we ate our take-out with epic views of green mountains. Not so bad, right? If you think take-out is boring, that’s because you are probably eating on your couch night after night. Try mixing it up and packing up a picnic and taking it to a lookout with a scenic nature view. We all have been quarantined to our houses so long that spending a little time eating a meal in the quiet of nature can really boost your spirit and enhance your mood! It definitely did for this girl! Even more so because my baby is due this coming week and I know I won’t be able to have lunch in Malibu like this for a little bit!
