A good skin care regimen is super important especially when you work out and sweat! I have been getting breakouts lately and I realized that I have not been the best at washing my face right after I hike or work out. That is a big no no! Dirt from hiking trails coupled with sweat definitely is the culprit of my breakouts. I also don’t have a skincare routine that I follow daily and being that I am in my 30s it would be good to follow a protocol to keep my skin clean, hydrated, break out free and to anti age. I decided to consult my friend who is in the skincare industry and she recommended two things for me:
1. Clean the slate; start fresh! Switch up your cover up to a more natural brand like Bare Minerals and get a new brush. Everything you put on your skin is absorbed and Bare Minerals is paraben, phthalate and formaldehyde free.
I already went to Sephora and picked up both a new brush and Bare Minerals powder. Phew I can feel better now knowing I am not loading my skin up with harsh chemicals!
2. Â Get on a new skincare regimen. PCA Skin is free of potential irritants like synthetic dyes and fragrances. Follow the regimen with the below products:
- Creamy Cleanser – gentle hydrating cleanser removes dirt and make up with out stripping the skin of its natural oils.
- Daily Exfoliant – exfoliating scrub to deep clean and polish away dead skin cells.
- Acne Gel – botanical blend spot treatment that controls oil production.
- Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum – instant hydration and fine wrinkle reduction.
- ReBalance lotion – lightweight and formulated to keep the skin calm plus powerful antioxidant protection.
I took my friends advice and ordered all the above products. I have been using PCA Skin for 2 weeks and I already notice a big difference! My skin is noticeably clearer (wohoo!) and looks both plumper and smoother. I could not be happier. A new cover up and skin care routine along with always making sure to thoroughly clean my face post work out and I am rolling into 2019 with my best face forward! I love starting off the new year feeling good, so I wanted to share my new skincare protocol with you all. Happy 2019!
