3 Stair Work Outs in LA
Los Angeles is known for its sunny and pleasant weather year around so why keep your work outs indoors? I don’t know about you, but I am all about soaking up the sunshine and getting my outdoor time in. In addition to amazing hiking trails, LA has so many staircases throughout the city that are perfect to utilize if you want to get a solid leg and booty boosting work out in, but don’t want to hit the trails. Here are 3 of my favorite stair work outs in LA:
Calabasas Hidden Stairs – tucked away in the Calabasas rolling hills is a perfect set of stairs and I say perfect because they are evenly measured and not cracked or falling apart, making measuring your next step an easy task to do. The views of the hills make a stunning backdrop to this stair work out especially when you need to stop and catch your breath! Spring is great time to visit the Calabasas Stairs because if Los Angeles had some winter rain, the usually golden yellow landscape turns vibrantly green. For more details view my full blog post here
Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook – located in Culver City, this park not only has a set of stairs to climb providing a great leg work out, there is also a scenic nature trail with pretty landscaping so you can let those legs cool down as you leisurely stroll around the well-groomed paths. Once you have made it to the top of the staircase, sweeping city view awaits you as a sweet reward but be careful these stairs are not as groomed as those in Calabasas. Micheltorena Stairs – situated in Silverlake right across from Alfred’s (perfect to pop in after for a caffeine pick-me-up post work out) is this super photo-worthy set of stairs. This set of steps is the most urban out of the 3 listed here. Be prepared for meter parking and not so perfectly manicured surroundings. These stairs are painted with hearts and lots of colors so in addition to making a fun backdrop to motivate you as you pump those legs, you can also snag a cute photo before you get all sweaty!
